Courmayeur Design Weekend 2025

Courmayeur opens its doors to design by providing several spaces, indoors and outdoors, that become the setting for exhibitions and installations born from the synergies between architects and the event’s partner companies.

• Abbé Henry Square
  In Courmayeur’s central square, an installation by PIUARCH & PARK
  Associati: after the project conceived for Ostuni, a new space to be discovered in which snow and ice will be the raw material chosen to give shape to Garbellini and Rossi’s thoughts. Creative minds from two of the most important studios on the Italian scene, working together again just for Design Week-end.
• Piazza Brocherel
  In the small square at the beginning of the pedestrian zone, a transparent dome will become the set for video interviews with the protagonists of the 2025 edition and will be used by visitors as a photographic set in a sort of XXL-scale replica of a boule de neige.
• The Waldensian Church
  Right in the centre of Courmayeur, near the historic Grand Hotel Royal & Golf, is the small Piazzetta Petigax with its ancient tower. The little square is also overlooked by the former Waldensian Church, which is now an exhibition space managed by the Courmayeur municipality.
  With the 2025 edition of Design Week-end we would like to contribute to rearranging this space, using it for an exhibition but then leaving it better than we found it.
• Abitiamo alla montanara exhibition
  After the fun exhibition conceived and curated together with Giulio Iacchetti in Pietrasanta entitled ‘Abitiamo alla marinara’, the winter variant ‘Abitiamo alla montanara’ arrives in Courmayeur. A four-handed exhibition involving historical and innovative products inspired by winter and mountain scenery.
• SkiCAD trophy design
  Since the first edition in 2000, skiCAD reaches the 2025 edition in better shape than ever!
  A giant slalom open to skiers and snowboarders, which sees at the starting gate owners and collaborators of the most important design studios. Massimo Roj, owner of one of these and a talented athlete, signed the 2023 Lualdi-inspired trophies and the 2024 ‘best team’ trophy.
• SkiCAD bib design
  Race bibs have always been customised with designs by prominent designers such as Michele De Lucchi and Antonio Citterio. In 2024, Studio OneWorks designed the graphics and for the next season, too, will see an important signature at work.
• Dis quoi
  A new collective installation, involving all architects and designers who wish to participate. A kit with some components (a wooden arrow, some tempera, a protector) to create their own ‘unexpected direction’.
